Senior Graphic Designer

Senior designer for hero and complex packs; supports or deputises for the Graphics Supervisor — UK Graphics grade; confirm title on the call sheet and deal memo.

Duties

• Read the call sheet and sides before arriving
• Maintain radio/set etiquette and H&S
• Hand over notes/kit status at wrap
• Design hero graphics and packs
• Mentor juniors / assistants
• Proof on set and with Art Directors
• Maintain brand/period consistency
• Hand off print-ready and screen-ready files

Reports to

Graphics Supervisor / Head of Graphics (or PD/Art Director if no graphics HoD)

Works with

Graphic Designers, Assistants, Props, Set Dec, Clearances

Graphic Designer → Senior Graphic Designer → Graphics Supervisor

Day to day

Design hero items; mentor juniors; manage rounds of Director/PD notes; oversee print-ready files and clearances flags.

Call times

Mostly prep in the graphics room; attend set when dressing hero graphics or screens. Overnight print and clearance rushes before shoot days are common — check the graphics schedule against unit call.

What to wear

Smart-casual in prep; blacks when dressing on set; clean hands for hero paper props.

Tools & kit

Laptop, pen tablet, measuring tape, swatches/print proofs.
