Base Runner

Runner based at unit base / production office rather than on the floor — UK Production grade; confirm title on the call sheet and deal memo.

Duties

• Read the call sheet and sides before arriving
• Maintain radio/set etiquette and H&S
• Hand over notes/kit status at wrap
• Base and office runs
• Collections and drop-offs
• Support Coordinator / ADs as directed

Coordinator / Base AD / PM

Works with

Base departments, Transport, Catering flow

Production Runner / Base Runner → Secretary / APC

Day to day

Open/close base tasks as briefed; meet cast/crew; runs between office and trucks; keep base tidy and discreet.

Call times

Production office often opens earlier than unit; coordinators hit call-sheet deadlines the night before. Runners may open base early. Night shoots flip office cover — check the sheet.

What to wear

Smart-casual in office; blacks if on set; weather layers for location runs; comfortable shoes for long days.

Tools & kit

Laptop/phone, chargers, notebook, production office kit; runner bags for runs.
