Action Prop Supervisor

Supervises specialised action/hero props (including practical action and weapons protocols with qualified armourers when required).

Duties

• Read the call sheet and sides before arriving
• Maintain radio/set etiquette and H&S
• Hand over notes/kit status at wrap
• Plan and approve action prop makes and hires
• Supervise Action Props crew and on-set handovers
• Enforce safe handling / armoury protocols as required
• Present action props for Director/PD sign-off

Action Props, Standby, Stunts/SFX when practical action, Armourer when weapons protocols apply

Day to day

Plan action props with Director/Stunts; supervise builds/tests; run on-set action prop safety; document chain of custody for restricted items.

Call times

Dressing props frequently pre-call for dress/strike; standby props match unit call and wrap with camera. Store and run days before first shoot can be long — check standby vs dressing call.

What to wear

Blacks on set; boots in store/stage; gloves for handling; smart-casual in prep meetings.

Tools & kit

Action prop kits, locks, sign-out sheets, specialist PPE.
