Supervising Chargehand Dresser

Leads the dressing props team on stage/location before shoot: install and strike dressing to Set Decorator brief.

Duties

• Read the call sheet and sides before arriving
• Maintain radio/set etiquette and H&S
• Hand over notes/kit status at wrap
• Oversee entire dressing props crew on set
• Dress sets to PD / Set Decorator vision and deadlines
• Coordinate prop delivery with Prop Master and Storeman
• H&S around heavy/fragile dressing
• Strike and return dressing after shoot

Day to day

Plan dress/strike labour; brief Chargehands; quality-check rooms; coordinate Graphics/softs; hand to standby.

Call times

Dressing props frequently pre-call for dress/strike; standby props match unit call and wrap with camera. Store and run days before first shoot can be long — check standby vs dressing call.

What to wear

Blacks; steel toe-caps; gloves; hard hat if required on build.

Tools & kit

Radio, multitool, gloves, inventory lists, soft wrapping materials; action kits as grade requires.
