Leads unit transport: vehicles, drivers, movements and base logistics — UK Transport grade; confirm title on the call sheet and deal memo.

Duties

• Read the call sheet and sides before arriving
• Maintain radio/set etiquette and H&S
• Hand over notes/kit status at wrap
• Schedule drivers and vehicles
• Unit moves and cast cars
• Liaise Locations and ADs
• Compliance (licences, insurance, hours)

Production Manager / Line Producer

Unit Drivers, Facilities Drivers, Locations, AD office, Cast drivers

Career path

Unit Driver → Transport Captain

Day to day

Build run sheets; allocate drivers; coordinate with AD office/Locations; manage facilities moves; solve breakdowns.

Call times

Drivers commonly pre-call for cast pickups and truck moves. Facilities may overnight on location. Read the transport memo — it is separate from unit call.

What to wear

Smart-casual or blacks as briefed; hi-vis when banksman/marshalling; weather layers; compliant footwear for yards.

Tools & kit

Valid licences as required, phone/mount, vehicle checks checklist, hi-vis.
