AI on set & in post — practical crew checklist
AI is showing up in casting clips, pitch visualisation, archive search, subtitling, VFX assists and editorial tooling — not only as chatbots. ScreenSkills’ AI 101 checklist asks whether you have permission to feed material into a tool, who owns the output, whether inputs are stored or reused, whether use is transparent to the team, and whether it matches employer or commissioner policy. BFI-funded projects have separate AI transparency and rights warranties. Do not upload scripts, rushes, likenesses or personal data to consumer tools without clearance. Ask production or post for a written AI policy if tools touch your department. This is guidance only, not legal advice.
