Camera, codecs & ACES colour pipelines

Large-format digital capture, ARRIRAW/ProRes Log C and ACES-based pipelines are common on UK drama and features. Near-set or lab systems often convert camera originals to ACES for editorial dailies (look baked in) and OpenEXR pulls for VFX, carrying ASC CDL or show-look metadata downstream. DITs and data wranglers should confirm the colour pipeline (camera log vs ACES), LUT/CDL hand-off, and whether cloud review proxies are generated on set or at the lab. Ask for the show’s technical rider before day one so media, naming and backup match what editorial and VFX expect.
