Green production & BAFTA albert on UK shoots

Major UK commissioners expect measured carbon reduction, not just a logo. BAFTA albert certification is widely required; the BBC mandates albert for new TV commissions and asks UK shoots to avoid diesel/petrol generators where required. From 16 September 2026 albert’s Next Generation Toolkit is the path for new productions (Certified or Committed routes), with the old toolkit phased out after mid-December 2026. Expect sustainability leads/coordinators on larger shows, travel and energy decisions in the schedule, and evidence for certification. If you supply kit or transport, ask what fuel and metering rules apply. Guidance only — follow the production’s albert plan.
