Virtual production & LED volumes (UK stages)
LED volumes and in-camera VFX are now a normal UK option, not only for tentpoles. Facilities such as ARRI Stage London, Twickenham’s Samsung Micro LED stage (opened 2025), Garden Studios’ upgraded volume (2026) and Studio Ulster in Belfast mean more call sheets list VP supervisors, LED technicians, Unreal/engine operators and camera tracking alongside camera, lighting and art. On a volume day, expect longer pre-light and content checks, stricter RF discipline, and art/lighting working to the screen rather than building full locations. Ask production which stage package is booked, whether content is in-house or third-party, and whether your rate covers prep/wrap for volume days. Guidance only — check your deal memo and the facility brief.
