• HOD Model Maker

  Head of the Model Making / Prop Modelling unit on UK film/TV: owns delivery of all model and prop makes for quality, budget and deadlines under the Production Designer / Prop Master relationship.

• Supervising Model Maker

  Supports the HOD Model Maker running the UK model unit day-to-day; often heads a lane such as hand props, dressing makes or a major hero build.

• Senior Model Maker

  Experienced UK prop/model maker who can lead a small team or own a complex make from brief through finish, including drawings and digital fab files when required.

• Model Maker

  Core UK model/prop making grade: fabricates prop and model makes from drawings and briefs using workshop materials, machines and finishes for film/TV.

• Mid Model Maker

  Mid-level UK prop modeller (Bectu Props Branch grade): solid workshop skills across common processes; still develops under Seniors on the most complex hero work.

• Junior / Assistant Model Maker

  Developing UK model unit grade: assists Seniors/Model Makers across fabrication, mould assist, finishing prep and workshop jobs while building independence.

• Model Making Trainee

  Entry-level UK model unit role: learns materials, machines, H&S and set etiquette under close supervision while supporting the workshop.

• Model Making Coordinator

  Admin and logistics support for the UK model unit: orders, schedules, budgets, paperwork and workshop running so makers can stay on the bench.

• Sculptor (Model Unit)

  Sculpts hero and character forms, maquettes and pattern masters for the UK model unit — distinct from scenic Construction sculptors; focused on props, creatures and precision patterns for moulding.

• Mould Maker

  Specialist UK model-unit mould maker: designs and builds moulds (block, jacket, silicone, fibreglass, multi-part) so casts are accurate, repeatable and production-safe.

• Paint Finisher / Model Painter

  Paints and finishes prop/model makes for UK camera: colour, texture, ageing, distressing and matching existing surfaces; often leads a small paint bay on larger shows.

• Mechanical Model Maker

  Specialist who builds working mechanisms in props and models: hinges, gears, linkages, motors, practical lights and simple motion for UK film/TV action props.

• Standby Model Maker

  On-set cover for the model unit: resets, repairs and last-minute adjustments to hero/action makes during shoot so camera is not waiting on the workshop.

• Digital Fabrication Technician

  Runs digital-to-physical workflows for the UK model unit: 3D modelling file prep, CNC, laser and 3D printing, plus finishing of printed/milled parts for makers to assemble.

• Metal Fabricator (Model Unit)

  Model-unit metalwork specialist: cuts, shapes, welds and finishes metal components and structures for props and models on UK film/TV (within workshop competence and tickets).
